Our story doesn't begin with a fancy business plan, but with a simple, powerful idea: a car repair shop should be as reliable as the vehicles it fixes.

It was 1995. Our founder, Nahbor, was working as a master technician at a large, impersonal dealership in the San Fernando Valley. Day after day, he saw customers being confused by jargon, overwhelmed by inflated bills, and distrustful of the repairs they were told they needed. Nahbor knew there was a better way. With a lifetime of savings, a toolbox full of integrity, and the unwavering support of his family, he took a leap of faith and rented a small, two-bay garage on White Oak Avenue in Van Nuys. Nabhors Auto Repair was born.

The name "Nabhors" is a blend of "Nahbor" and "neighbors," reflecting our core belief that we're not just here to fix cars, but to serve our community.

The early days were built on sweat and word-of-mouth. Nahbor's wife, Maria, managed the front office, ensuring every customer was greeted with a smile and treated like a neighbor. Nahbor was under the hood, often working late into the night, not just to fix cars, but to educate their owners. He would bring customers into the shop, show them the worn brake pads or the leaking fluid, and explain in plain English why a repair was necessary and how it would keep their family safe.

One of our first customers was an elderly woman from North Hollywood whose car had been repeatedly "fixed" by another shop. Nahbor found the real issue—a simple, neglected electrical connection—and charged her only for the diagnostic time. She became a customer for life, and her son, and later, her grandson. That moment cemented our core philosophy: Do what is right, not what is easy.

Over the years, our little two-bay garage expanded. We hired technicians who shared our values of honesty and craftsmanship. We invested in the latest diagnostic tools to keep pace with evolving technology, from computer-controlled engines to the rise of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles. Through it all, we never lost sight of our roots. We are still a family-owned Van Nuys business, now serving the children and grandchildren of our original customers.
